Step 1: Prepare The Tools Before sharpening the table saw blades, you must prepare all the tools required to conduct these steps. The tools need to sharpen the table saw blade are, a flat file, a triangular file, a set of pliers, a brace screw, and a ring spanner. With the help of these tools, you will perform the task easily. Step 2: Take Safety Measure In the upcoming step, you must take the necessary safety precautions before you start sharpening your table saw. Always choose a safe surface to start your work. Remove the blade from the saw and then proceed towards the sharpening. Hence, you must wear goggles and a face mask to protect yourself from metal shaving. This shaving might get into your eyes and cause blindness. Moreover, wear gloves to protect your hand and earmuffs to ease the noise. Step 3: Start Sharpening Take all your tools out and begin with sharpening your table saw blades. All you have to do is clamp the table saw first. Now, take your sharpening file and start sharpening the blades slowly. It can be an onerous task and must not be rushed. Once you are done with the sharpening file now, take the simple flat file and start dressing the table saw blades. With the help of this dressing, the table saw blades are all brought to the same level so that they form an even line. Rub over the tips of the teeth on the blade until they have the same length. Later, take the triangular file and start sharpening the teeth of the blades until the flat surface is removed. Hence, when you are finished with sharpening the teeth, then you must check if they are pointing towards a single direction. If not, then you will use the set of special pliers to make the teeth on the blades even and adverting in one direction. Once you are done with the teeth, now you must proceed towards sharpening the area between the tooth gaps. Therefore, you need the triangular file again, without applying a lot of pressure file each tooth to ensure consistency. Step 4: Lubrication To keep your table saw free of rust, you need to follow this step after sharpening and also after every use. Therefore, you must take lubricating oil and with the help of cotton or paper, press a small amount over the entire table saw blade. Once you have completed the lubrication, install the blade back into the saw. Step 5: Evaluate The Sharpened Blade The final step is to use the sharpened blade on a piece of wood to test the sharpness of the blade. Hence, you will be able to find whether it’s working properly or not. Therefore, if the blade is not sharpened the way you want, redo the previous steps until you are satisfied with the results. Moreover never apply pressure on the blade because they might break with a lot of coercion.
